Acetate Box Packaging Materials: Properties Explained

Your choice of materials

At Vision Packaging there are 4 main types of material that we use;

  • PVC
  • PET
  • RPET
  • Polypropylene

All of these materials have a proven track-record and are all excellent when used to produce transparent packaging.
However, there are different advantages to each material.

Acetate Boxes - PVC, PET, RPET, Polyprolylene...
What's the difference? How do you choose?

The three main factors to consider are;

  • Cost
  • Environmental Impact
  • Durability

Packaging from PVC, (Polyvinylchloride)

Is the cheapest material for clear packaging of the three grades of material.
It has excellent clarity and can be printed to a high quality.  Ideal for all types of transparent packaging.

Packaging from PET, (Poly-ethylene-terephalate)

PET is considered to be the sound ecological choice for packaging as it is completely physiologically harmless.

It is produced using 100% naturally occurring ingredients.

Packaging from RPET

RPET is a version of PET that is predominantly used by us at Vision Packaging that contains a minimum of 70% post consumer waste within the material. Again the clarity of this material is excellent for packaging and can be printed on to a high quality. This is ideal for all types of clear or transparent packaging.

Packaging from Polypropylene

Polypropylene is also a greener option for packaging than PVC; it is produced without using water and with zero harmful emissions.
Polypropylene is a strong hardwearing packaging material. It is 35% lighter than the other materials that we use.

Which helps reduce your carbon footprint?
Clear Polypropylene has a slight milky tinge to. It can be printed to a high quality and is ideal for folders and sleeves, items of packaging that will be used again and again.

Polypropylene is also available in a range of different colours and textures.

All of the material that is used at Vision Packaging is acceptable for “direct food” contact and conforms to all current EEC Directives.

All of our waste is recycled.
